Engaging Queenslanders in science strategy
Sometimes we don’t appreciate just how much science impacts our lives every day.
Queensland scientists are international leaders at the forefront of many breakthroughs and discoveries that will deliver outcomes locally, nationally and internationally. Queenslanders are largely unaware of the significant, life-changing science and research taking place in their own backyard.
Engaging Queenslanders in Science Strategy (PDF, 1.6MB) — a strategy has been developed to build a shared understanding across the community of the importance of science, innovation and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education, and to support the development of a vibrant knowledge-based economy.
The strategy includes a range of engagement and communication programs including the Partner Up Queensland series of workshops and networking events, and our National Science Week events and activities.
This strategy was informed by research to understand Queenslanders’ perceptions and attitudes towards science.
If you’re involved in science activities and events, you can apply for funding of up to $10,000 to help increase the reach of science.
