About the Queensland Science Collaboration Gateway
The Queensland Science Collaboration Gateway (the Gateway) facilitates the presentation of major research funding proposals for major funding schemes to senior government decision makers comprising the Interdepartmental Science Committee (the Committee). Members of the Committee include Deputy Directors-General and other executive leaders from across Queensland Government who have an interest in progressing Queensland’s scientific capacity, standing and merit. The Committee is chaired by the Queensland Chief Scientist.
The Gateway is not a grant or funding program or an evaluation or assessment process; it provides a coordinated gateway to government for researchers seeking in-principle support from Queensland Government agencies for their research funding application.
Funding schemes in scope
The funding schemes in scope of the Gateway include:
- Cooperative Research Centre (Grants scheme only, not Projects scheme)
- Australian Research Council Centres of Excellence
- National Health and Medical Research Council Synergy Grants
- Australia’s Economic Accelerator Innovate Grants
- The National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy program (pending release of the program’s guidelines)
- National Environmental Science Program
- Medical Research Future Fund 2024 National Critical Research Infrastructure Grant Opportunity (Stream 3)
- Other Medical Research Future Fund opportunities that involve an open call for applications.
Expressions of Interest relating to Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Research Program proposals will be considered on a case-by-case basis, where the project is highly likely to have a total cash value (grant value plus applicant and partner contributions) of $5 million or more, not including in-kind contributions.
While details of future Gateway rounds are not yet confirmed, proponents may suggest additional funding schemes for inclusion in future rounds via completing this short form.
